Staff Reporter Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Deputy Governor Dr Kupukile Mlambo has urged captains of industry and businesses to comply with the foreign currency auction exchange rate and price reasonably to avoid arrests. The foreign currency auction was introduced by Government last year as a regime where the allocation of a given amount of foreign exchange is determined through a bidding process. Unrelenting Gukurahundi Memorialists Erect Third Plaque

Staff Reporter The third memorial plaque to honour the victims of the Gukurahundi genocide has been erected at Bhalagwe in Maphisa, Matabeleland South after suspected state agents vandalised the two plaques that were erected on separate occasions earlier this year. Bhalagwe is the Gukurahundi flashpoint where thousands were reportedly thrown into the disused Antelope Mine at the height of the massacres. The newly elected Zapu president, Sibangilizwe Nkomo, has urged party members to remain to loyal to the opposition party and work with him to restore the organisation back to its former glory. Florence Taruvinga is the new president of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions after beating incumbent Peter Mutasa at a congress on Friday to become the first woman to hold the position. Taruvinga works for ZESA as a technician and was previously the ZCTU’s first vice president.
